Overview
Climate Alliance Limited is a not-for-profit, membership based company that engages with business leaders and communicates the opportunities and risks of climate change. Climate Alliance organises events where directors can exchange experiences and ideas. In addition, we publish independent, business-oriented information for Company Directors to help them inform themselves about the issues. We focus on the opportunities resulting from climate change, through practical, real-life examples of best practice in Australia and elsewhere.
Strategy
Climate Alliance provides leadership and assistance to the business community to help them become more informed about the opportunities and risks associated with climate change.
Executives keen to gain a competitive advantage, voluntarily reduce their company’s carbon footprint and mitigate the risk from climate change need impartial information to guide them through the plethora of information and range of alternative solutions. Much of the relevant information is dispersed widely and couched in jargon or technical language. Climate Alliance collects information on the experience of international companies that have successfully taken action to improve efficiencies and reduce carbon emissions.
Specifically, Climate Alliance:
• Offers membership to Australian directors.
• Provides members with website access to 'members-only' information about the opportunities and risks associated with climate change.
• Provides directors with the opportunity to meet other directors who have been “early adopters” and can pass on their experience and knowledge to other interested directors. This exchange will be facilitated through Round Table Forums and operate under the Chatham House rule.
• Runs four Quartely Update seminars per year that address issues specifically of interest to the Director community.
• Hosts an annual National Conference.
